Description

Oblivion Avoidance Meditation formalizes a deliberate approach to preservation. By learning this Charm, the character establishes and maintains a fixed archive intended to prevent the loss of role-playing game materials through neglect, obsolescence, or simple disappearance. This archive may contain rules material, supplements, essays, tools, reference documents, and original work created by the character.

The effects of this Charm are selective rather than comprehensive. Oblivion Avoidance Meditation does not impose standards of completeness, balance, or scholarly authority. Instead, it preserves material the character judges to be useful, interesting, or at risk of being lost. Archived material may originate from multiple sources and contexts, and no attempt is made to reconcile contradictions or establish a single canon.

This Charm is not designed to track current events or ongoing developments. Its function is long-term stability rather than immediacy. Over time, the archive accumulates material into a coherent repository, resistant to link rot, platform decay, and casual erasure.

Once learned, Oblivion Avoidance Meditation is always active. Its effects persist as long as the character continues to maintain the archive. If the archive is abandoned, the benefits of this Charm cease until maintenance resumes.

Limitations

Oblivion Avoidance Meditation does not prevent loss entirely.

Links rot.
Formats decay.
Context erodes.

The practice merely slows the process and leaves markers behind for those who come later — including the original practitioner.

Invocation

Readers are encouraged to use what they find here freely: to adapt it, reinterpret it, or carry it elsewhere. If something recorded here proves useful, the meditation has achieved its purpose.

Design notes

This site is built in plain HTML and CSS to minimize dependency and maximize survivability. It contains no trackers and relies on no dynamic infrastructure.

It is designed to be readable first, decorative second.

Oblivion is patient. Avoidance must be practiced.
